Ring Is Making Smart Lights for Your Dumb House

Smart home company Band is turning on some smart lights to go with its Ring Video Doorbell and security cameras.

CES 2022 bug artAt CES in Las Vegas, the visitor appear the acquisition of Mr. Beams, which sells a pick of affordable, wirelessly connected lights with motion sensors including ceiling lights and nightlights, equally well as outdoor fixtures including security lights, path lights, and spotlights. With the energy-efficient LED lighting engineering from Mr. Beams, Ring plans to release new standalone outdoor security lights called Ring Beams.

Aside from its flagship video doorbell, Ring also sells security cameras such as the Ring Floodlight Cam and Ring Stick Up Cam. Through the Ring app on desktop, tablet, or smartphone, customers can manage their devices and review footage. Users can also share videos with nearby users through a feature chosen Ring Neighborhood to keep residents informed on local crime.

Ring markets its ecosystem of smart dwelling products every bit a way to reduce neighborhood crime, and Band Beams adds nevertheless another continued layer to that strategy. The company said Ring Beams products including spotlights, pathway lights, and deck lights will exist bachelor in mid-2018.

Pricing is non yet bachelor. However, Ring will continue to operate Mr. Beams as an independent division and plans to keep releasing products under both brands.
